Life on Board -Id Badges

I think its time for a few small posts! in this first week i have been adjusting to life on the ship. Here on board we all have security name tags, that we must have on us at all times. As we arrived on board (all sweaty from carring our bags in the muggy afternoon sun) they snap a picture, we use the passes for everything. As we leave and return to the ship we scan in and out, we use the passes in the store and it is linked to our staff account, even in town it is used as ID so no need to carry passports or other ID, that's handy! These passes though do carry a lot of value, and as we leave the port we need to tuck them away and ensure they are not stollen as they would give someone easy access to the government port and our ship.

The patients even receive yellow ID cards. Prior to the ship arriving a large screen took place at a local stadium. People from all over the country and some neighboring countries came to see if Mercy Ships would take them on as patients!. Once they received a yellow card a piece of hope was given to them. Not everyone can be helped by Mercy Ships. These cards again need to be kept safe. Once the patients arrive on the unit they hang above there beds for the duration of their stay. For follow up appoints a sticker is placed on the back of the card giving them entry back to the port for follow up.

I know that's a rather boring post but its quick and brief! Its not an essay this time!
